Palm Jumeirah, Garden Villa, K Frond
This is a full renovation of an existing 4-bedroom property on The Palm Jumeirah, Dubai. Elemento provided a full design and fit-out service for the project. The existing villa has been extended to include a new powder room with shower at the ground floor. Construction works include demolition of interior walls, demolition and replacement of staircase, installation of large family kitchen, installation of large sliding doors in the living area, new finishes and fittings for bathrooms and new floor finishes to the first floor. Situated in a high-end residential location, the villa has a landscaped patio area with pool, and direct access onto a private beach. The client wanted to maximise the views from the living space, and this was an important part of the design process. A modern and contemporary style has been used throughout the villa.
Neutral finishes are complimented by bright coloured soft furnishings and accessories throughout the ground floor to provide a modern and comfortable feel.
A bespoke open kitchen was designed with a hidden door into the back kitchen achieved by blending the finishes. The cabinets are finished in a modern high-gloss white lacquer and walnut, and the island unit is a feature Arabescato marble.
First floor bedrooms and hallway now have a new walnut parquet floor finish, and wall finishes throughout were updated with fresh modern colour schemes. Soft colour schemes are used in the living areas and bedrooms, which have been complimented by the addition of loose furniture and accessories in pops of bright colours. When it comes to renovation, one of the biggest fears is going over budget. However, Elemento’s design team worked on strategic points about design, materials, and timing to complete the project on schedule within the budget of under two million dirhams. The existing living space was opened up and large fully folding glass doors were fitted. This extra space affords benefits such as more entertainment space, improving the flow of natural light, and makes the home feel larger. The high-end quality of the materials and accessories ensure this home is built for several life-times. While many of the design elements required new items, all existing interior doors and bedroom closets have been simply repainted in a modern light colour.
